     Solomon Fletcher Solomon Fletcher and his wife Ellen, with their family, moved to Texas from Missouri in the year 1852 and settled at the place where M.F. Blackburn now lives, (now known as the Loftland home place up S. of Katy tracks) or that is the first place I ever saw the family. David Fletcher, the father of Solomon, lived with them and worked at the Cooper's trade. It was there where we got our pails made, and tubs made over, and such work as we had in that line. The Children of the Fletcher family were Rebecca, turner, Charles, Samuel, Joseph, John and Julia. Mr. Fletcher moved to this county in a two-horse wagon, his team etc...(From a two page copy from an unknown book.) He was born on 17 September 1813 at Indiana or Iowa?1 He was the son of David Fletcher and Rebecca Kay Tarwater. Solomon Fletcher married Elender Broadhurst, daughter of Henry ? Broadhurst, on 9 January 1834 at Orrick, Ray County, Missouri.2 Solomon Fletcher died on 3 May 1896 at Rockwall, Rockwall County, Texas, at age 82.1
